NFTs and Game Items

The idea is that initial character NFT sales serve two functions: 1) the classical utility of owning an immutable PFP NFT, as well as 2) providing a set of individual composable NFTs that can be used as in-game items.
Before a usable version of the game is released, all NFT drops fall into the category of PFP NFT drops. Each PFP NFT has a set of items that define the character as a whole.
The PFP is unique and is limited to the drop. There will never be more. It will be delivered upon purchase from the drop.
But, in addition to the PFP, once a usable version of the game is released, owners of the PFP NFTs will have the option of redeeming the items in their PFP NFTs as individual NFTs.
As with RPGs in general, these items and any other items you own can then be used with a character identity (this will also be in the form of an NFT) to compose your character with the caveat that each NFT can be equipped by 1 character identity at a time.
The item statistics themselves will be primarily dependent upon “Rarity” and the item in question, but will also have an element of luck influenced by “Condition” such that each item of the same kind may have different statistics within some range.
The current plan is to not have the specific item statistics in the NFTs themselves, but to rather have the statistics available in the game and in a web interface. The idea is that nearly all games require some form of rebalancing of game statistics for one reason or another, at least initially.
While the character NFT drops serve as the starting point for obtaining in-game items, and will be the only mechanism for obtaining certain exclusive top rarity items, players will also be able to purchase “mystery boxes” with their Wari tokens. The mystery boxes will provide users an item as a lottery draw from a defined probability distribution.
Items may also have a set property, when applicable, that indicates that the item belongs to a certain set. As a classical RPG concept, owning partial or full-sets will provide the characters with additional perks in terms of higher stats or potentially some form of novel properties that influence the game play mechanics e.g. slowing down the opponent team.
Both the PFP NFTs and in-game NFTs have additional utility in terms of obtaining the project's native Wari token.
